ASSOCIATIONS
The UPB Economics career is associated with the Center for Economic and Business Research (CIEE), the Center for the Generation of Information and Statistics (CEGIE) and the Laboratory of Experimental Economics (LABEX), where students can carry out their professional internships, theses degree and once graduates apply to be Research Assistants or Researchers (once they have completed their Master's or Doctorate).

The Center for Economic and Business Research(Centro de Investigaciones Económicas y Empresariales)(CIEE) directs its research activities towards topics of applied economics, with an emphasis on issues of national and regional interest, favoring technical and data-based analysis. The activities of the CIEE are developed in a wide spectrum of research lines, among which we can mention: Economic Policy, Monetary Policy, Fiscal Policy, International Trade Agreements and Economic Integration, Labor Market, Inequality and Poverty, Regional Development and Analysis of Productive Sectors, Competitiveness, Market Study and Analysis, Organizational Development and Human Development.
Consistent with its technical orientation, the CIEE favors the use of quantitative mathematical and statistical techniques and methods, econometric, accounting and computable general equilibrium models, as analytical instruments of applied research.

LABEX
LABORATORY OF EXPERIMENTAL ECONOMICS
WHAT IS LABEX?
The Laboratory of Experimental Economics (LABEX) is part of the Center for Economic and Business Research (CIEE) of the Bolivian Private University (UPB). LABEX seeks to understand in depth the behavior of people to make more efficient public and private strategies that improve social well-being. To do this, it studies the factors that influence the decision-making of individuals or groups of people in a controlled environment, through economic experiments that use real incentives.
LABEX begins its activities in May 2018, developing general protocols for the experiments and the recruitment system.
