The Economic and Business Research Center focuses its research on applied economics topics, with emphasis on national and regional issues, prioritizing data-based technical analysis.
CIEE has a wide spectrum of research lines, among them: economic policy, monetary policy, fiscal policy, international trade agreements and economic integration, labor market, inequality and poverty, regional development and analysis of productive sectors, competitiveness, market analysis, organizational development and human development.
Consistent with its technical orientation, CIEE privileges the use of mathematical and statistical quantitative methods and techniques as analytical instruments of applied research, such as econometric, accounting and computable general equilibrium models.
